No, unfortunately, Javascript doesn't do file manipulation by default and the only ways to do it is either (very) browser-specific or involve communicating with another script. You will either need to install PERL locally, or run it on the server via telnet. Telnet is installed as part of Windows 7 but is not enabled by default. A quick web search should reveal how to enable it.
Heya. Dude, i mailed you, I have a problem with your old 7415 script. It won't run under win 7. Is there any way to transform the encodulate.pl intro javascript? Your script is exactly what I need but I lack the javascript knowledge to transform it. Could you please help me?
